We made it to Derby!

After 2 boat rides, a 7 hour bus ride, 2 plane rides, and 2 more bus rides, (and 4 days later) we made it to Derby, England!  It really is great here- freezing, but great!  We are staying at the YWAM base in Derby, and we each get a bed which is AWESOME and totally unexpected!  The people here are so nice and very welcoming.  Today we explored the city, and then hung out at a skate park for a while.  I met some girls that are 14 and seem awesome, and we are going to try and make it back to the skate park daily to spend time with the people there.  Please be praying for those relationships.  Its crazy the way people react when you show an interest in them. This week we are going to be spending a lot of time at the skate park, in an ethnic community, and doing other things with a church here.  I am not really sure what our ministry will look like exactly, but today was a great start.

While traveling we had to wait a day for the guys to meet up with us, and we spent a day in London, went to the British museum, and walked around the streets.  It was a blast, but we were so glad when we got to meet up with the guys.  Marvin made it! He is really cold here, and please just pray for his adjustment and jet lag.  He is exhausted and i think a bit cultured shock.  Its the first time he has ever left Belize.

I will get back to yall with the ministry God is blessing us with here!  In the mean time keep praying for relationships to be formed.  From what I have noticed, most people in England are not very joyful, if that is okay to say.  Like if I smile at someone I am lucky to receive one back.  It is so different and just kinda feels dark and oppressed.  I feel like so many people here are all about religion and miss out on who God really is and what He wants for every one of us.  Pray that people can see a difference in us, and the joy that God gives us daily can spread to these people, and that they truly experience God's love, even if its just one person.

We leave monday!

I cant believe we are leaving Monday!!  These are our travel plans- Monday at 6 am we take a boat into San Pedro and then another boat for about 2 hours to Chetemal Mexico.  Then we have a 7 hour bus ride to Cancun.  (We will arrive in Cancun hopefully around 7pm.  We are sleeping at the YWAM base in Cancun, and then the girls (girls and guys are splitting up for flying because Marvin can’t go through the states because he couldn’t get a visa)- have to be at the airport in Cancun by 6 am and we are flying to Miami, which I am pumped about because I can use my phone for 6 hours!!  We are then flying to London and will arrive in London Wed morning, so it’s a good 2 days of traveling. The guys will arrive in London Thursday morning, so it will be awesome getting to spend a day in London.  Thursday we will be making our way to Derby, the first place we are doing work.

We are all very excited to go to England for our outreach, but leaving here is going to be hard.  Bible school in the Caribbean, could it get any better than that?? This has seriously been one of the COOLEST experiences of my entire life.  I am so excited to take what the Lord has taught us to England.  And my team is incredible and I am pumped to travel with my friends.

As of now, internship is still not sure.  There is an orphanage in Northern Thailand in a city called Chaing Mai that me and Tina are talking to, and we are praying to see if its where we are supposed to be.  Please keep that in your prayers!

This week has been outreach prep week, and we have made skits, studied our notes, and got things ready for leaving.  On our trip I am in charge of photography and blogging for YWAM.  It was a good preparation week, and we also got to soak up our last week in the Caribbean with sailing, swimming, snorkeling, and eating some good local food.

Next time I blog I will be blogging from England!  Yall God is too good, and if you have a dream, DO IT! Because God put that dream in your heart, and it will be better than you could have ever expected.  Sorry to go corny, but I mean it!! I love yall and miss yall so much!!

We had our last lecture Friday, which is crazy!  Our teachings last week were over the gospel and ways to share the gospel with different people, which was an awesome week to have right before we go to England.  We still do not know when we are leaving exactly but I am guessing we will leave a week from tomorrow.  I have just been trying to soak up the rest of the time we have here. We have been sailing, snorkeling, swimming, and laying out every chance we get when we are not in class.  Its going to be VERY different going from living in the Caribbean to living in England, but I am excited for the change, but am still really sad to leave here.  Last night we had the end of the DTS phase banquet, so we got all dressed up (which is rare here) and had a great time.  I will keep yall posted when we get more details about England! Love and miss yall so much!!

AND CONGRATS SAVANNAH AND THOMAS!! love and miss yall so much!!

Once again, sorry for the delay in posts.  Things here have been CRAZY and so good!! I feel like I have so much to write right now, but ill try and keep it short.  I cannot believe we leave for England in less than 2 weeks.  We will be in Derby for the first 2 weeks for sure, so that is where we are headed.

Last week our speaker was awesome and we had a great week.  This past weekend we started our advanced certification for scuba diving.  We had to go on 5 dives, and one of them we went 140 feet! It was so crazy and one of the coolest sensations I have ever experienced.  When you looked to the top you could not even see the surface, and it was the prettiest color blue I have ever seen in my life.  Then on our way back in between dives (we went on 3 dives and after everyone we come home for about 45 minutes to get the nitrogen out of our bodies) we saw a dolphin and we put on our masks and jumped off the boat and next thing I new these dolphins were playing with us! It was SOOO cool! They were beautiful and played with us in the water for a good 15 minutes.  It was literally a dream come true.   Then our next dive HUGE sharks started feeding on a baracuta.  I watched for like 15 minutes.  They were fighting over it and I kept thinking I was watching Planet Earth live.  It was seriously my dream to see that.  SOOOO cool.  My dive master scared the crap out of me though by grabbing my leg right in my mid watch.  The next day, Monday we went night diving. OH MY GOSH I froze my butt off. But it was AWESOME. It was pitch black and the coolest things come out at night. Eels swim around like snakes. And we saw TWO octopus!!! When you shine a light on them they try and camouflage to the light so they went from like green to orange to purple.  It was one of the coolest things I have ever seen.  Basically Sunday and Monday was the best diving I think I will ever experience. It was AWESOME!

This past week we studied faith.  We had our last oral book report Monday .We ended up going to Corosal to do some work.  It was about 7 hours of traveling, including a 3 hour bus ride which was awesome because I felt like I got to know Belize so much more.  It is BEAUTIFUL and we got to see a little of the jungle.  We ended up helping some missionaries finish some construction and did some street work.  It was awesome and such a cool experience.

Today some of us went out snorkeling and ended up spearfishing all afternoon.  We caught 4 fish came home and fried them.  Ally ate the entire thing, eyeball and all.  I couldn’t do it.

It is finally hitting me that we are leaving soon.  Please be praying for this change.  I love it here so much, and kinda don’t wanna leave, but I know its time for our outreach and the Lords timing is perfect.

Sorry this is a long one, I will update this week sooner than later! I miss and love yall so so much!!
