This week our speaker is AWESOME.  It has been crazy with school though.  We had a test yesterday and had to memorize the location of all the countries and capitals.  It was a lot of studying, but went great and I realized how little I knew... oops. Our next book report is due Monday, so I need to catch up on some reading.

This weekend diving was awesome.  We did a different dive- a shallow one, which was a fun change and when it is shallow you can stay down for longer because you do not use as much air so we took a ton of pictures, cool i know.

Last night we went crab hunting and put a ton of crabs in the guys shower.  I felt like i was in 6th grade again wrapping someones house, but it was so funny and they put crabs in our shoes to get back.  pranking Caribbean style gets dangerous. Makes me miss you brittani!

I love and miss yall and please keep praying for out preparation for the United Kingdom.  We will be in Derby, Edinburgh, and Wimbledon. It was very exciting finding out our locations!

When we enter the water i feel so hardcore
Don't ask me why we would take pictures when we are not by the pretty stuff, right to the right is a BEAUTIFUL coral reef

Sorry I have not updated in so long!  Seeing my parents was great! I got to see them everyday they were here.  My favorite night was they took my entire team out to a nice dinner, and it was just a blast.  I am so blessed by my parents.  The only bummer was my mom got certified to scuba dive so we could go together, and the weekend we were going to go was the FIRST weekend we have had bad weather since I got here.  So we did not get a chance to dive together, but I am pumped she is certified so we can go together in the future.

Last weeks speaker was John Gots and his teachings were awesome.  We also had a book report due last week, and this Monday we have our geography test where we have to learn where all the countries and their capitals are.  I also had devo on Monday and talked about Ecclesiastes chapter 3, and how the timing of the Lord is absolutely perfect. Then Tuesday I led intercession, which is what we have on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and basically intercession is when we pray (intercede) for other people for 2 hours.  its a long time to be in prayer but I love it. So all that to say last week and this week has been crazy!  With my parents being here all last week I have had a lot of school to catch up on.

This week our staff is teaching, which is so cool.  Each staff is speaking for a day and the theme is Purpose and Passion.

I cannot believe we only have a month left to be here.  We leave for England around July 22 (whatever date close to there we can fly the cheapest) and we are there until about September 20.  From there I am going to do my internship, which goes until January 6.  Its weird that the longest part is the last phase.  Please be praying for guidance for my internship.  As of now I am contacting an Orphanage in Phang Nga, Thailand.  It is an orphanage run by YWAM, so we are seeing if they could use me there.  That was I could learn the process of adoption, and its right on the beach which is always a plus.  Google Phang Nga its BEAUTIFUL. If that does not work out I will contact the YWAM base in Kona Hawaii and see if I could do my internship there.  Nothing is for sure and please be praying I am obedient to what the Lord says.

I feel like this was kinda a lame update, but ill update again after the weekend!

My parents are coming tomorrow!

The rest of ministry week was incredible.  I loved being in the schools with the kids.  It made me want to teach in a third world country.  The kids here are so smart, and once they get 5 minutes of 1 on 1 time they will learn, but that’s so limited here.  I also had a blast teaching with Marvin, the local on our team.  He was so great with the kids.  Next week we are back to our normal schedule with a new speaker.  I am excited to be back in class.  We have a book report due Monday, so I am reading and catching up this weekend.  Also, MY PARENTS COME TOMORROW! I am so pumped to see them, and for them to see my life here, because I feel like I cant explain it very well via e mail.  I miss and love yall so much, and your e mails make my day!

Me and the kids at school
These are the cool places we get to hang out. I just LOVE it here
This was a night at the park we had for the kids.  We did face paint, games, had cookies and juice, it was a blast.

Ministry Week!

This week is so great.  Instead of having a speaker and being in class, we are actually working with a school in down town San Pedro.  As much as I love class, it is a good change of pace. In the schools we are paired off in two’s and in the same classroom all week.  I am with Marvin, the local on our team.  We are in a 6 year old class, and the kids are so great.  Schools are very different here though (clearly).  Like yesterday Marvin and I walked in and the teacher said, okay teach Bible stories.. We were basically in charge the rest of the day.  The teacher gave one lesson on adjectives, and when I started helping the kids I realized most of them do not even know their ABC’s, so we learned the song., but there is a big difference in memorizing a song and learning the letters.  I spent most of the day working with kids one on one, specifically one girl and one boy who are very behind.  We left the classrooms at 12, and then went into San Pedro and did work projects for 2 families.  The one I was assigned to was an old woman who had just had surgery.  We cleaned her house and took her daughter to get ice cream.  It was fun and I feel like I learned so much more about Belize yesterday.

Today me and Marvin showed up to class and our teacher straight up left.  Like went home.  She wrote a schedule for us to do that consisted of “Bible stories and mathematics.”  I was like…. Hmm this should be interesting.  But we did it, and I did my best to teach the kids how to add.  The teachers here are on about an 8th grade level of education, so its been cool try and show the teachers new ways of teaching.  Before class today me, T, and Ally went to the classrooms and played songs for the kids.  My fingers burned like fire because it had been so long since I had played guitar, but the kids loved it.  I was pretty sick of Waves of Mercy and My Fathers House though by about 9am. ;)

We will be in the classrooms all week and doing other ministry stuff in the afternoon.  And instead of having Friday night off we are having a ministry night in the main park down town for the kids, doing face painting and passing out candy.  Sunday we get to work with a church and lead Sunday school.  I love how San Pedro is pretty small because most of the kids in our classes will be at the park Friday and church Sunday.  Its cool to hang out with them outside of class and show them we love them and WANT to spend time with them.

Please just be praying for strength for us this week. Also, being around these types of areas and schools reminds me of how much I love working with third world people.  Please pray that I can continue to trust the Lord with taking us to the UK for our outreach.  It will be a different kind of ministry, and please pray the Lord continues to prepare all of us for it.  Love yall so much!

cats gone wild

We just finished up our week with our speaker Jim Peterson.  It was a great week on leadership.  I am still learning so much from all my readings, and am still loving it here.  I still wake up everyday so happy to be living in the Caribbean.  Or sometimes in class I look down and can’t help but smile that there is sand on my feet. Sounds so cheesy but I just LOVE it and was totally made for an island.

Next week is going to be a little different.  I don’t really know what we are doing, but we do not have a speaker and we will be spending our days in town doing mission work.  I am so excited to put what we have learned to practice, and to change it up a bit and not be in class all day.

Thursday night me, Tina, and T decided to sleep on our dock.  We literally slept over the Caribbean ocean and under the best stars ever.  It was AWESOME and so beautiful to wake up to the sunrise.

Last night we went into town for dinner, and then I met up with Laura after for ice cream. I know I have talked about Laura, our cook before, but I am just so blessed by our friendship here.  It is seriously one of my favorite things about being here.  The locals here are so cool, and once you are their friend, they really love you and would do anything for you.  I am so glad Laura and I have become such good friends, I think she is the funniest, most blunt person I have ever met.

Sometimes I am emotionally tired here.  It is always really deep stuff, and we study so much everyday, and its just emotionally draining, so please be praying for that.  I love it, its just really draining some days.

We went diving all morning, and its just so beautiful.  I cant get over how pretty it all is.  Then I biked to Coco beach (the resort I get to spend some time at) and spent the day here.  I am still here writing this and can’t get over how dang beautiful it is!

I will send another update Monday to let yall know what next week is and how you can be praying!

also there are freaking crazy cats here that can meow at volume 30. its really fun at 5 in the morning!

This was us sleeping on the doc and the sunrise was BEAUTIFUL
